VENTURA, CA (Mar, 19, 2007) – Ventura County Marketing Professionals is a new networking
and professional development group dedicated to supporting those working in the fields of
marketing, public relations, and graphic design.
The professional group was launched earlier this month by Tea Silvestre of Social Good
Marketing & Design, Inc. Silvestre noted that the group was formed mainly out of frustration that
Ventura County lacks a local chapter of the two main national associations in her profession
(The American Marketing Association and Public Relations Society of America both have
chapters in Los Angeles).
“Launching this group is a way for us to gather as peers for the purpose of advancing the
standards of our profession, providing each other with professional development opportunities,
and assisting with information exchange forums and research projects conducted at the local
level,” said Silvestre.
At this time, the group is meeting on-line via a listserv hosted through Yahoo Groups, so there
is no cost to join the VC Marketing Professionals. Those in the marketing, PR, or graphic
design professions working in Ventura County, are invited to visit the group’s site at: http:
//finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/vcmarketingprof/. Joining is simple, and takes just a few
minutes.
