Marketing Firm, SOCIAL GOOD, doubles original grant, awards over 400
pro-bono hours to local nonprofits
VENTURA, CA (January 17, 2007) – SOCIAL GOOD Marketing & Design, a Ventura-based, full-service
marketing firm, announced today that it will grant more than 400 pro-bono hours of consulting worth more
than $20,000 to local nonprofits in 2007.

The two top awardees in the granting process were
Ventura County AIDS Partnership and Interface
Children Family Services
who will each receive 100 hours of strategic marketing consulting and PR
services (worth $5,000 each).  Over 200 additional hours were divided among 20 other grant applicants.

For the Ventura County AIDS Partnership, the grant will play an essential role in their evolution from being
primarily a grant maker to also providing programmatic, collaborative activities in the fight against HIV/AIDS
in Ventura County. VCAP’s latest project, the HIV/AIDS Latino Taskforce, aims to prevent HIV infection
utilizing community organizing and advocacy.

Patricia Navarro, VCAP Board Member and mother whose child died of AIDS said, “SOCIAL GOOD’s
marketing services are 100% in line with our HIV/AIDS Latino Taskforce objectives. This partnership will
strengthen VCAP’s outreach into the community through focused strategies and messages.”

Madhu Bajaj, VCAP Program Manager stated, “This grant will provide the professional guidance to ensure
that our marketing efforts are effective and will dramatically increase VCAP’s positive impact in Ventura
County.”

For Interface Children and Family Services, the grant will be integral to helping the organization get a clear
and consistent message out to the community.

Terry Miller, interim Executive Director said, “The opportunity to receive 100 hours of marketing consultation
from Social Good Marketing is a rare gift for Interface.  It will really help us reach out so everyone in Ventura
County can know about this wonderful community resource. We are very grateful to Tea Silvestre and her
company for assisting us in this endeavor.”

Mike Sedell, Co-chair of the Board of Directors of Interface stated, “Interface Children Family Services
certainly appreciates the contributions of Tea Silvestre and Social Good Marketing & Design for their efforts
in helping to make a better Ventura County."

Ms. Silvestre enlisted the assistance of a few objective community members (who wish to remain
anonymous) to act as her advisory review committee.  After a lengthy discussion, the $10,000 grant was
divided in half so that two organizations could benefit.

After further consideration, Ms. Silvestre selected 20 more organizations to receive smaller awards of 5-10
pro-bono hours.

“It was a very difficult decision-making process,” said Tea Silvestre, President of SOCIAL GOOD.  “We
received nearly three dozen proposals requesting assistance for wonderful causes and projects.  I wish we
could’ve helped all of them.”
