What to Read: The Enlightened Entrepreneur
It was published 5 years ago, but I missed it then.  Now I can't put it down.  Mostly
because I've been looking for better ways to integrate my personal life and philosophies with
my business practices in ways that will make sense to me AND my clients.
If you're looking for a new way to think about how you market your organization, I
recommend you read Grace Bulger's The Enlightened Entrepreneur: A Spiritual Approach to
Creating & Marketing a Company.
The book is filled with self-assessment exercises that will get you thinking about who you
are in relation to your business.  And then how to promote THAT to the world.

Do you really need to hire an agency?
One of my favorite blogs is Guy Kawasaki's "How to Change the World" at:
http://blog.guykawasaki.com/.
Subtitled, "A Practical Blog for Impractical People,"  Kawasaki's musings are usually right
on and have plenty of sage advice on PR, marketing and other related subjects.  You should
definitely check him out.  Starting with this entry on how to decide whether or not you need
to hire an agency:
http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2007/05/diy_pr.html.
Go ahead and go there now and read what he has to say.  I'll wait.
Yes, I realize I may be telling you that you don't need to hire me, but hey -- I don't want to
take your money if it's unnecessary.

So when is it necessary?
When you want help with strategy!  When you want help with moving to the next level.
That's when you call in an agency.
Maintenance work is always done more cost-effectively in-house (and yes, I mean yours).
Cool Tools
RSS (or, "Really Simple Syndication") allows you to get personalized news sent to your
own  site automatically on a daily basis.  This can be for your own personal enjoyment
(which means f-r-e-e) or can be used to add relevant content to your organization's website
-- and possibly boost your rankings with search engines in the process.
