Recommended Reading: "Book Yourself Solid" by Michael Port

This book promises you "the fastest, easiest, and most reliable system for getting more
clients than you can handle even if you hate marketing and selling."

I'm almost finished reading it, and I can tell you it IS full of great advice -- the kind I am
continually giving my own clients.

But even if you already feel comfortable with marketing and selling, this is a great review.

Make it a habit! Read at LEAST one new business-related book a month.
Use Viral & Cause Marketing to Get the Word Out FOR You

There's a great example of Viral Marketing taking place on the Internet right now. It's
called Feed333.

This short-term marketing project is based on doing good for others, and it relies on the
Internet, "Cause Marketing" and "Viral Marketing" to be successful.

What is Viral Marketing? It's word-of-mouth on eSteroids. You remember that
commercial for a shampoo we used to see? ("You tell two friends, and they'll tell two
friends, and so on, and so on...)

And Cause Marketing? Well, that's when a business partners with a non-profit cause for
the win-win benefits of promoting both the business and the cause.

Put these two together and that's the exponential power of good news. You can use this
sort of thing in your own business by partnering with a good social cause and then putting
some well-laid strategy into place. Call me if this sort of thing sounds interesting to you,
and we can brainstorm some ideas for YOUR business.
PR Tip: Maximize Every Opportunity

Even an event as "simple" as signing a new client is worthy enough to create some buzz
around your business.

For instance, I signed up two new clients this month: Sea Breeze Art Gallery and SPA by
Diane Loring, Inc.

For each of those clients, I sent out a press release to the local media and other interested
organizations (like our local Chambers) and businesses who I thought might be interested in
knowing about these relationships. In addition, I posted these releases on my website with
links to both of the clients' websites.

These actions might seem minor, but in the world of marketing and public relations, they can
usually turn out to be very helpful.

Do you have a great new client? How about a new line of business? Or a joint effort with
another company or organization? These are all perfect opportunities to spread the news
about who you are and what you do.
What do Shoppers Want?

Do you have items for sale at your place of business? How about on-line?

Did you know that a recent Yahoo poll showed 75% of shoppers will purchase gifts on-line
this season?

If you aren't offering your customers the option to purchase on-line, you may be missing out
on revenue!

If you aren't sure about how to go about adding this type of option to your current website,
give me a call and I will refer you to some great local web gurus.
Thank you for being a loyal SOCIAL GOOD friend! And have a JOYFUL holiday!

Warm regards,
Tea L. D. Silvestre
